The meeting included discussions and approvals regarding a contract of purchase and sale with Wyn Atmore LLC for the sale of property to build a Microtel Hotel at Rivercane. Additionally, Resolution 2022-12 was approved, concerning West Escambia Utilities' sale of approximately 135 acres to the State of Alabama for the construction of a new prison in Escambia County.

The council addressed several key items, including an ABC License Transfer request to QuickStop Food Mart, seeking permission to file tax liens on 15 properties based on the 2021 Grass & Weed Abatement Cost Reports, and the appointment of Kevin Classen to the HPC. Additionally, a decision was made to increase the garbage fee by $10 per month starting July 1, due to the rise in fuel costs.

The meeting addressed a grass and weed nuisance on 14 properties, directing the Code Enforcement Officer to proceed with abatement and removal. Plans were discussed for a major clean out of ditches throughout the city, with the project divided into four quadrants and funded by gas tax and general fund money. Approval was given to let bids for the ditch clean out project.

The council addressed several items, including accounts payable and Halloween Trick or Treat hours. They approved funding for the 2022 Street Resurfacing Project and hiring Civil Southeast for engineering services via Resolution 2022-20. Fred Knight's request to hold a candlelight service at Houston Avery Park was also approved.
