Summary
To provide a Training Management System (TMS), to develop and support such a system or provide operational, maintenance, and developmental support for the current system in place. FLETC requires a program that can manage, schedule, report and to conduct financial transactions for student training. The following is a description of key functions and mission critical processes that FLETC’s current TMS provides: Our current TMS is an enterprise wide IT system that encompasses the majority of the FLETC’s mission–critical processes. Our TMS is designed around and interconnected with approx. 32 functional areas. The TMS allows for automated alignment of the training needs and available training resources to develop a schedule based on a series of business rules to ensure proper sequencing of classes. The system primary functions include a scheduling system to automate the FLETC’s process of scheduling training programs; a student-registration and management system; a testing and evaluation function that provides tools to develop and manage tests and other evaluation instruments; a tuition component allowing for detailed monthly and semi-annual tuitions to be developed; and a student billing component to allow for various daily and one-time charges
to be billed on a per student basis. The current TMS is the result of combining commercial-off-the-shelf software with a government-developed interface to meet the needs of FLETC (Enterprise).
