Work consists of, but not limited to, the rehabilitation of the existing filtration system by replacing the filter underdrain, filter media, launder troughs, air scour delivery system within the underdrain, providing new positive displacement air scour blowers, placement of a crystalline coating system to address leaks in the concrete structure, and the addition of piping within the filter influent flume and other identified surfaces. New chemical injection points and piping will be provided at the clearwell.Other rehabilitation replacements include providing new valves and electric actuators to replace existing. The Human Machine Interface (HMI) on the existing filter control panel, electrical panels within the electrical room, turbidity instruments, filter box level indicators, and pressure head monitoring are to be replaced as well. Within the blower and electrical room, the doors shall be replaced and include landing pads to address existing drainage related sloping issues.

Calaveras County Water District

Rehabilitation of the filter and associated appurtenances at the reclaim plant. The project consists of (but is not necessarily limited to) removing and placing/replacing back the adsorption clarifier beads and mixed media (anthracite coal, silica sand, high-density sand) support gravel, surface wash arms, and underdrain system from the filter, disassembling and rehabilitating and or replacing associated appurtenances (valves, gates, gauges, piping, etc. ) as needed, and removing / re-coating the adsorption clarifier and filter both internally and externally as well as all associated piping and appurtenances. The district is also interested in contemplating the incorporation of improved technologies associated with the filter rehabilitation described and appreciates input from prospective bidders.

City of Rochester

The City of Rochester (City) has undertaken a program to evaluate all of its filter underdrains, air scour piping hardware, filter effluent control valves, and backwash system equipment. In 2024, the City hired a consultant (Ramboll) to conduct a condition assessment of the filters and their related control valves, and prepare a preliminary Engineering Report with recommendations for future improvements/replacements. That report was completed in July of 2025. The City is seeking proposals from a qualified Consultant (Consultant) to provide design and construction administration services to implement the recommendations in the Preliminary Engineering Report.
