Sources Sought for Boeing 747-8 Initial and Recurrent Pilot Qualification Training

The FAA (Acquisitions & Business Services) issued a sources-sought market survey to identify firms capable of providing commercial off-the-shelf Boeing 747-8 initial and recurrent pilot qualification training for Flight Standards Operations Inspectors. Respondents must submit capability statements, SAM Unique Entity ID, geographic area of service, past performance, and approach in accordance with the attached Performance Work Statement (PWS). The survey will be used to determine competition and possible small business set-aside; responses are due Feb 6, 2026.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to contract with a single source for Mitsubishi MU-2 initial and recurrent pilot qualification training. The notice identifies SIMCOM International Inc. as the only source with an FAA-approved flight training device and approved training program to meet FAA requirements. The notice was posted Jan 5, 2026 and responses are due Jan 19, 2026.
