Summary
The Riverview Elementary School Gymnasium Addition and Renovations Project is now open for prequalification. The project involves approx. the demolition of the existing gymnasium and construction of a new single-story, high-bay replacement gymnasium with an enclosed connector, along with renovation of the existing attached classroom wing. The total building area is approximately 15,627 GSF, comprised of 5,865 SF of new construction and 9,762 SF of renovated existing space. New construction includes load-bearing concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls, prefabricated light gauge metal roof trusses, a standing seam metal roof, and brick veneer and metal siding exterior finishes. The renovation reconfigures four existing classrooms into enlarged Art and Music classrooms and a flexible classroom, along with renovated student toilet rooms and associated support spaces. Building systems work includes new HVAC (water source and ducted heat pump systems), full LED lighting upgrades, electrical service upgrades, fire alarm upgrades with a voice evacuation system, and new plumbing fixtures. A new enclosed connector will link the gymnasium to the existing school and the freestanding classroom building, and site improvements include a redesigned student drop-off zone and updated circulation patterns.
