Summary
The request includes 80 vials of human liver cells for the four major cell types required to observed liver fibrosis in vitro (i.e., hepatocytes, stellate cells, endothelial cells, and Kup-ffer cells). These cells will enable establishment of liver microtissue models with reliable protocols for reproducible evaluations of chemical-induced liver injury potential and their progressions to over time to fibrotic damage. Furthermore, these platforms will enable fundamental understanding of the mechanistic nature toxicity-induced liver injury that con-tributes to the widespread prevalence of liver fibrosis in humans.
