Project provides capacity improvements for freight rail service, commuter rail service, and Amtrak’s Texas Eagle service on the TRE corridor. It will also allow increased frequencies of commuter trains to better serve the growing population of the Dallas-Fort Worth region and the changing commuter patterns. It includes the following work: Double Track West Medical Market Center (MP 640.7) to Stemmons Freeway (MP 639.5), about 1.2 miles. Rehab the existing bridge over Inwood Road (milepost 640.41) and add adjacent bridge for new second track. Add new bridge at Knights Branch (milepost 640.32) for a new second track. Replace current Noble Branch Bridge and add adjacent bridge for second track (milepost 639.62). Rail operations must remain uninterrupted during construction with the exception of Agency approved outages. The scope of work includes all civil and structural work as outlined in the contract drawings find in Exhibit J.
