Summary
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a Sources Sought to continue the national implementation of the CAHPS Hospice Survey, which provides a standardized questionnaire and procedures for caregivers of decedents under hospice care and supports public reporting on Care Compare. The contractor will support national implementation tasks including analyses of a revised/shortened survey, submission of an updated PRA package for OMB approval, development and maintenance of survey and data-submission systems capable of handling over one million surveys, and ongoing technical assistance and vendor oversight. Participation in the survey is mandatory for Medicare-certified hospices under the Hospice Quality Reporting Program and results are publicly reported quarterly.
