Summary
Fire flow analysis: the consultant shall perform fire flow calculations at designated fire hydrant(s) serving private development projects when field testing is not feasible. All calculations will be completed using the city's most recently calibrated water system hydraulic model and will be prepared to satisfy the plan review requirements of the county fire department (LACFD). Hydraulic model simulation: the consultant shall simulate fire flow conditions at specified hydrant locations, including analysis of available fire flow at a residual pressure of 20 pounds per square inch (PSI), or as otherwise required by LACFD. Simulations will reflect applicable system operating conditions, including pressure zones, tank levels, and pump status. Coordination and compliance: the consultant shall coordinate with city staff as needed to confirm project location, hydrant selection, and modeling assumptions, and shall ensure all analyses comply with applicable city requirements and industry standards.
