The project consists of the cleaning, closed circuit television video (CCTV) inspection, and rehabilitation of a force main at the owner's jones island water reclamation facility (JIWRF). the force main carries flow from the head tank at the inline pump station (IPS) to either preliminary treatment or directly to disinfection and consists of approx. 801 LF of 72" reinforced concrete pressure pipe (RCPP), 177 LF of 72/78" steel pipe, a 72-" butterfly valve, and 222 LF of 78" rcpp for a total length of approx. 1,200 LF. Before rehabilitation work can be conducted, the force main needs to be cleaned and undergo a CCTV inspection. The RCPP segments require spot repair at a total of five locations. These spot repairs require surface preparation, abrasive or centrifugal wheel blasting, repair using repair mortar, and recoating with a high-build epoxy-based liner. The steel pipe segment and butterfly valve are to be cleaned and prepared for coating, in their entirety, with abrasive or centrifugal wheel blasting and recoated with a high-build epoxy-based liner. The contractor will supply all equipment and major power needed for the work.
