Summary
Project will contract a conservator to conserve 5 historic stained glass windows that are currently part of the building envelope in thomas edison s 1880 victorian mansion, glenmont. These highly decorative windows were created by artist george hardy payne, circa 1880, and are located in the formal areas of the first floor of glenmont. These locations include the first floor reception hall, the first floor reception room, and the first floor pedder library. Specifically, the project includes a figural window transom in color with painted glass in the reception hall (figure representing fire from the four elements), a center transom panel with a figure playing a harp in the reception room, 2 transom side panels in the pedder library that are an abstract floral design with stained and painted glass, and a transom center panel in this room, which is figural, depicting a lamp of knowledge.
