Improvement work on the Freeport Harbor PA 1 has typically been performed under a single contract since the inception of the PA. The Freeport PA 1 is a contiguous, discrete site that is used to store dredged material for the Federal Navigation Channel (Freeport Harbor Channel). PA 1 is approx.324 acres, enclosed by a single continuous dike, and is only accessible by land from one entrance location, located in the southwest corner. Work to be completed in this contract includes raising the containment dike an additional three feet, training dike construction, lateral ditching, and repair of an existing outlet structure.
