Summary
Install two animal heavy use area protection and waste storage structures to treat and store manure generated on the sterner dairy farm. The proposed Dairy Heavy Use Area Protection and Waste Storage BMP Implementation project includes the construction of roofed manure storage facilities, concrete heavy use area with fencing for livestock, manure transfer pump system for milked wastewater, a stone access road and associated stormwater management structures, including grassed waterways, water and sediment control basin, rock lined waterway, roof gutters, underground drainage pipes and rock
aprons. The following is a more detailed breakdown of the construction sequence: 1. Installation of site E&S controls
2. Installation of two compartment 1500 gal pump tank as outlined in design. Throughout construction there must always be a location vailable for the farm to store at least 3-4 days worth of milkhouse wastewater. 3. Decommission existing Mar-Allen pre cast liquid manure tank. 4. Excavation for the two roofed HUAs and waste storages as detailed in the project designs. 5. Pour concrete for 189' long x 12' wide x 12' deep liquid slatted manure storage tank for dairy facility
6. All project concrete must be poured, finished, verified, invoiced and paid no later than December 1, 2026. 7. Construction of 72’ x 40’ roofed heavy use area, 40' x 40' roofed stack pad and 156’ x 66’
roofed bedded pack compost. 8. Installation of the Rock Apron, Water and Sediment Control Basin (and associated underground outlet), Grass Waterway (and associated subsurface drain), & rock apron at
the grass waterway outlet. 9. Installation of Stream Crossing & Animal Trails.
