Summary
The Research Foundation for the State University of New York (RF-SUNY), acting on behalf of Binghamton University, is soliciting proposals from qualified construction management firms to provide comprehensive Construction Management Services for the Battery-NY Project, a first-in-class U.S. lithium battery technology development and prototyping facility at 10 University Blvd., Johnson City, NY. The selected contractor will provide pre-construction services, project delivery and coordination, scheduling, budget and cost control, document control, weekly progress meetings, field supervision, and commissioning/closeout for a build-out of approximately 30,000 square feet of internal manufacturing space supporting flexible battery cell formats at up to 30 MWh scale. The solicitation is funded jointly by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) and NYS Empire State Development, with the project originally awarded as part of the Build Back Better Regional Challenge to advance an upstate New York battery innovation hub led by Nobel Laureate M. Stanley Whittingham.
