Carbon Offsets

The State University of New York at Buffalo is soliciting proposals to purchase high-quality carbon offsets originating from projects that destroy ozone-depleting substances to help the university achieve climate neutrality. The contractor must supply offsets that are easily quantifiable and verifiable and that meet high quality standards, potentially providing co-benefits through additional carbon sequestration work. The solicitation covers offsets sufficient to address the university’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions (typical annual emissions estimated at 30,000–45,000 MTCDE).
