The AIR program will consist of an initial two-year Phase 1 and a three-year Phase 2 for a total of five (5) years. At the end of Phase 1, only some teams will be selected to continue as performers, based on performance with respect to metrics and milestones. Meeting metrics and milestones does not guarantee program continuation. Technical Area 1: Autonomous Endovascular Robotics: Technical Area 1 consists of two (2) independent sub-areas: TA1-A for endovascular robotic systems, and TA1-B for the development of an in silico simulation environment and the creation of a medical imaging data set needed to train the robots and the environments, including but not limited to fluoroscopic videos of endovascular procedures (neurovascular preferred) and CT angiograms. The results of TA1-B will support TA1-A development, validation, and regulatory approval efforts. See attached file.
