A competitive grant program seeking proposals to restore and protect the health and living resources of Long Island Sound. It is interested in empowering communities of all kinds (particularly communities typically underrepresented in environmental programs and projects) to access, improve and benefit from Long Island Sound, its waterways, and surrounding lands. Up to $400,000 is expected to be available for grants in 2026. The most competitive proposals will incorporate multiple values including sustainability, resilience, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Long Island Aquaculture Infrastructure Grant program seeks to expand and renew aquaculture operations in Long Island to promote long term viability of the marine economy and support the scaling of existing and new products produced in New York State. The program will provide two rounds of funding assistance: Round 1 – Equipment Only: Funding for aquaculture equipment available on a rolling first-come, first-served basis, and Round 2 – Infrastructure Projects: Funding for aquaculture infrastructure in a single request for proposal process. At least $1.2 million will be available to eligible applicants through the Equipment Only funding. Maximum award is $99,999. Applicants may not request more than this per project. Minimum award is $25,000. Applicants must request at least this much per project.
