Lease Smyrna Airport (MQY) property upon which to design, construct, finance, operate, and maintain aeronautical-use facilities. There are two (2) parcels totaling approx 3.4 acres available for lease and aeronautical development.
AvailableProject involves rehabilitation and reconstruction of portions of the pavements for the airport's primary 8,037' by 150' runway and the re-grading of the associated adjacent runway safety areas (rsas) out to a 500' overall width. Along with these paving and grading efforts, the project will include miscellaneous storm drainage improvements, runway edge lighting improvements, internally lit signage relocations, new supplemental wind cones, new precision approach path indicators (papis) for each runway end, and replacement of the runway 32 approach light system's threshold bar. This project 1 will focus on the rehabilitation of 2,500' of the runway's length at the runway 14 end and the reconstruction of 3,187' of the runway's length at the runway 32 end. Some key approximate quantities for the various paving and grading efforts include the following: removal to a 12" depth of 11,230 SY of light duty weathered asphalt in a paved overrun area, and re-grading with topsoil placement for turf establishment.
