The floodplain phase of the lower bridge replacement project includes realignment of 4,591 FT of the river back into its historic channel location, construction of 2,262 FT of new river side channels, regrading and restoration of 800 feet of the existing river channel, construction of 684 FT of a new south setback levee, removal of 765 FT of the existing street, removal of 928 FT of the existing avenue, removal of the existing south levee from street west, removal of 1,861 FT of the existing north levee, removal of concrete walls and the regrading of the south shoreline of the new river channel at station 0+00, construction of a new road and bridge to access the power towers, and construction of scour pads around existing BPA power poles.
