The council discussed and approved the 2026-2027 General Budget, along with Resolution 2026-1 pertaining to said budget.

The council reviewed and approved purchase orders, along with treasurer's and budget reports. Department head reports covered the Free Swim event attendance, the receipt of a grant for Animal Shelter Software, Fire & EMS activity, the approval of the Fire Department Garage, and a change in the ambulance billing vendor. Updates were provided regarding maintenance efforts at the cemetery. The council approved base utility contracts for the Hooker Chamber of Commerce and the Hooker Senior Center, as well as Ordinance 2026-1 regarding ambulance rates and a cleaning contract. Additionally, the Mayor provided updates on golf course repairs, potential land use for irrigation property, and upcoming holiday activities.

The board discussed and approved purchase orders through a consent agenda. The treasurer report was reviewed, and the gas index was reported at $3.53.

The meeting included a review of various department head reports, such as maintenance operations, sewer cleaning procedures, and K-9 unit statistics. A zoning variance was discussed and approved for a property owner at 601 E Highway 54 to facilitate the relocation of water and sewer lines through a city easement. Additionally, the Council approved the Treasurer Bond for the treasurer. Announcements were made regarding upcoming community activities, including 4th of July park events and legislative updates concerning year-round firework sales.

The board approved purchase orders through the consent agenda and reviewed the treasurer's report. There were no public comments, and no discussion occurred regarding the city's gas system or gas index.
