The council considered several resolutions regarding the necessity of levying taxes outside of the ten-mill limitation within the village. Specifically, they addressed renewals for current general operating expenses at rates of 8.5 mills and 2.5 mills, as well as new additional levies at rates of 3.5 mills and 4 mills. Each resolution involved directing the clerk to certify the necessary matters to the County Auditor to proceed with submission to the electors for potential inclusion on the tax list and duplicate.

The board addressed multiple resolutions, including the authorization for the Executive Director to enter into an agreement for insurance coverage and the formal adoption of the Village of Glendale's cybersecurity policy. Additionally, the meeting included an executive session to discuss property matters in accordance with state code.

The Council meeting included the reading and signing of a proclamation recognizing Juneteenth National Independence Day, with an invitation to the community for a related event. Public comments featured discussions on historical property preservation, concerns about property rights, and accusations regarding a lack of representation and administrative transparency. The Mayor provided a report addressing these comments, along with updates on local events including the Memorial Day ceremony, community activities at local parks, youth sports signups, and upcoming church food drives.

The commission reviewed several property improvement requests, including window replacements at 760 Woodbine and 3 Village Square, and the installation of a new basement door. Requests for siding upgrades and a window material change at 915 Greenville were also discussed, with the latter being deferred. Additionally, the commission addressed administrative updates regarding proposed amendments to city ordinances and heard public comments concerning historical preservation efforts within the community.

The council meeting included the appointment of temporary clerk, the approval of an amended ordinance regarding the appointment and probation of volunteer firefighters, assistant fire chiefs, and division chiefs, followed by an official swearing-in ceremony for these new staff members. The council also received presentations from public commenters regarding a Juneteenth day of observance proclamation and concerns about the accuracy of prior meeting minutes, executive session procedures, and updates on the municipal strategic plan.
