The plan aims to safeguard private property rights, promote local customs and culture, ensure public safety, and foster community well-being through coordinated efforts and educational outreach.

The Otero Soil and Water Conservation District's Action Plan promotes and facilitates effective stewardship of natural resources in Otero County. It focuses on critical areas such as watershed health, forest and rangeland health, and resource education and protection, addressing issues like invasive species, soil erosion, flood control, and irrigation efficiency. The plan aims to optimize watershed function, maximize beneficial vegetation, provide outreach, and protect life and property through collaborative initiatives and programs.

The meeting involved a presentation by RJH Consultants to facilitate the preferred action alternative selection process. Discussions were held regarding the information presented, and the consultants expressed their intention to confer with NRCS upon the government's reopening to address the questions raised by the group.
