This strategic plan serves as a roadmap for the Polk City Community Library, aiming to enhance its services and responsiveness to community needs over the next three years. The plan focuses on three core areas: improving facilities for accessibility and future growth, enhancing library services through tailored programming for adults, tweens, and teens, and expanding digital offerings, and strengthening communication to increase community awareness of available programs and resources. The ultimate vision is to provide a place where all can meet, learn, and grow.

The commission reviewed and recommended to the City Council the approval of an amended preliminary plat for the Four Seasons development. Key discussions included the layout and spacing of executive-style lots along Whitetail Parkway, driveway safety requirements, and the development's alignment with city collector street standards. Additionally, the commission received updates on road construction projects, specifically regarding traffic pattern shifts and requested detours, as well as an update on a previous planning and zoning workshop.

The Parks Commission discussed the introduction of a new member and received an update on the regional park project, specifically regarding the new construction management approach and adjusted timeline for the soccer fields and trail infrastructure. Additional items included an update on the various phases of the trail connectivity project and planning for the upcoming Four Seasons Festival, including entertainment, event logistics, and traffic impacts.

The City Council held a work session to discuss trunk sewer projects and their impact on future economic development and growth. The discussion covered existing infrastructure capacities, the strategic planning goals established earlier in the year, and the need to prioritize specific sewer investments to accommodate residential, commercial, and industrial development. Participants reviewed acreage breakdowns for future service areas and addressed inquiries from developers regarding potential land development projects.

The council held a public hearing regarding the FY26 budget amendment number two, which includes funds for park improvements, various corridor studies, and improvements to the old schoolhouse. The council also approved ordinances related to water usage restrictions, water rates, sewer service charges, and storm water management utility rates. Additionally, the council approved a resolution regarding a final plat for the former city hall block and discussed the schematic planning for a future library addition and police station.
