The board approved the school calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year, awarded the Herrick Elementary roof replacement project to Top Quality, and authorized the replacement of a water heater in the Junior High building. Additionally, the board approved an agreement with the Shelby County Sheriff's office, an MOU with the Union concerning the bus mechanic position, and a resolution for the honorable dismissal of an employee. Following a closed session, the board accepted a staff resignation and approved the hiring of a new elementary school guidance counselor and a bus mechanic.

The board discussed and authorized several key items, including approval of board bills, the Risk Management Plan for 2026-2027, safety hazard routes, and the preparation of the tentative school budget. Bids for diesel, gas, and propane from Premier Cooperative were approved. The board also authorized an intergovernmental agreement with the Shelby County Sheriff's office and adopted updated PRESS policies. Personnel actions included the employment of a bus driver and the approval of FMLA maternity leave. A closed session was held to discuss personnel matters, such as appointments, employment, compensation, and discipline.

The Board of Education discussed and authorized the Superintendent to advertise for bids on food products. They approved grant applications for 2026-2027, resolutions regarding IMRF reporting, and a golf co-op agreement with Beecher City. Additionally, the Board conducted a hearing and approved the amended budget for the 2025-2026 school year, set student registration fees and handbooks for the upcoming year, and discussed personnel matters including a teacher aide resignation and the appointment of assistant coaches for volleyball and basketball.

The board approved a new 6-month certificate of deposit investment. During the meeting, the board conducted a closed session to discuss personnel matters, including appointments, compensation, and contracts. Following the session, the board employed a new 5th-grade teacher, approved the hiring of high school and junior high coaches, and re-appointed several existing coaches for the upcoming school year. The board also reviewed the district's financial reconciliation statement and approved the Consolidated District Plan and parent and family engagement policy.

The board approved IHSA and IESA membership for the upcoming school year and authorized the purchase of shot clocks for the high school gym. A resolution was passed to enter an Installment Purchase Agreement and issue Taxable General Obligation Debt Certificates. The board approved the tentative 2025-2026 amended budget for public viewing. Personnel actions included the employment of a Junior High Science Teacher and summer staff, the approval of two-year contracts for principals, and the acceptance of several resignations for coaching and teaching positions.
