The plan focuses on reducing risks from various natural hazards, including riverine/inland flooding, winter weather, hurricanes, drought, and wildfire. Key strategies involve local planning and regulations, infrastructure projects, natural systems protection, and public awareness programs, aiming to protect lives, property, natural environments, and infrastructure.

The Devens Climate Action and Resilience Plan serves as a roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare the community for the impacts of climate change. Building on principles of sustainable development, the plan outlines 73 actions across seven key elements: Climate & Energy, Economic Development, Public Health & Safety, Housing, Natural Resources, Transportation & Land Use, and Infrastructure. Its aim is to enhance community resilience, reduce environmental impact, and foster a healthier, more sustainable future for Devens.
