Board meetings and strategic plans from Tim Tripp's organization
The agenda for the Common Council meeting on June 10, 2025, included the review and approval of minutes from several previous committee meetings and boards, as well as the approval of claims, including City Checks and Electronic Payments for the period ending June 3, 2025. New business items involved approving a Conditional Use Permit for the Markesan School District, adopting a Wake Ordinance, authorizing resolutions for a Special Election and Temporary Municipal Judge appointment for the Lakeside Municipal Court, approving police officer training and conference attendance, and accepting bids for a Skid Steer trade-in and a Water & Sewer Truck and Plow. The agenda also specified potential Closed Sessions to deliberate on the Del Monte Lease and the City Clerk/Treasurer's compensation, followed by a motion to approve a wage increase for the Clerk/Treasurer and confirmation of an appointment to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
The committee approved the written report from Public Works and accepted a bid from Bobcat of Madison for the Skid Steer trade-in. Additionally, they accepted a bid from Asphalt Specialist for Street Patch repairs on Caroline St. and approved a bid from Ballweg Imp. for a BG 86 Blower. No action was taken on the Pedestrian sign quote.
The committee discussed a Public Works Report that included Landfill Inspections, Electrical repairs at City Hall, Volleyball court repairs at Kiwanis Park, and an update on Spring Bulky Trash Pickup. A motion was made to follow the recommendation of General Engineering to not change the parameters suggested for landfill inspections. The committee also discussed the Deer Management Program and decided to contact Tom Ruetten to request a written plan with suggestions to improve the program. Site plans from General Engineering developed in 2020 regarding a proposed shelter at Soldier's & Sailor's Park were presented, and it was decided to refer the matter to Council for further action. Three people have signed up to use the Community Garden this year. The Chamber requested information regarding setting up the city garage for the June Dairy Days 2025 event.
The agenda includes items such as the Public Works Report, Water & Sewer Department Report, discussion and action on CMAR Resolution Number 08-2025, and discussion and action on Truck/Plow Sealed Bids.
