The commission meeting primarily addressed one key discussion item: the consideration of a resolution regarding appointments to organizations and committees, as well as the delegation of authority, which was approved unanimously.

The meeting included a discussion item regarding a motion for a closed session. This session was initiated pursuant to Iowa Code section 21.5(1)(c) to discuss litigation strategy concerning Enterprise Products Operating v. Iowa Utilities Commission, Iowa Supreme Court Case No. 24-1648. The closed session recessed and subsequently resumed, after which the meeting was adjourned.

The meeting included several discussion items such as an overview of RTO and Federal/Regional updates, focusing on FERC, RTOs, MISO, and SPP issues. A litigation status report reviewing four active cases was provided. Further discussion covered expectations for the 2026 Legislative Session and a recently issued rulemaking order, along with updates on monthly financials and grants. Other business addressed included an overview of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), an update from the NARUC Annual Meeting, and a presentation on the State Hazmat Roundtable. The Chair also reviewed the upcoming IUC calendar and holiday schedule.

The meeting included public comments regarding the Utilities Commission's draft resource evaluation study guidelines.

The meeting included discussions and presentations on various topics, including a Federal/Regional update, the litigation status report, IUC accounting remainder assessments, monthly financials and offset program updates, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), winter preparedness meetings, and commission security updates.
