The board conducted public hearings regarding two variance requests. The first request involved a property subdivision and a variance for an access easement exceeding the 300-foot zoning limit for flag lots. The second request involved a setback variance for a proposed hardware store, necessitated by wetland constraints on the property, and included discussions on site drainage, retention pond capacity, and mitigation of impacts on adjacent properties.

The council discussed the outcomes of a goal-setting session and received updates on the town hall renovation project, including the status of ongoing demolition and remediation. A sewer grant award was announced, along with plans for pump station upgrades. Safety concerns were raised regarding a specific intersection following a traffic accident, and the council deliberated on potential traffic pattern improvements and speed enforcement. Additionally, the meeting covered fraud awareness regarding business solicitation scams, administrative responses to public records requests, staffing updates, and the approval of a resolution regarding the wastewater fee schedule.

The commission reviewed the site plan for phase three of the T Farm plan development, located near the elementary school. Additionally, the commission evaluated and approved the site plan for a new animal boarding and pet resort facility proposed for 4360 Savannah Highway.
