The council meeting included discussions and actions on several key items. A ballot placement draw was conducted for the upcoming City of Vega General Election. The purchase of a new riding mower was tabled, and the council decided to decline the rate increase from the Public Utility Commission of Texas 2025 Consumer Price Index. The council discussed the need for summer help at the City Park and directed the City Secretary to place a help wanted ad. A motion was passed to move funds into one consolidated cash account to utilize FundView software. The City Secretary provided updates on the new city website and the 2023 audit. A bid for replacing fire hydrants was reviewed, and a claim will be filed with TML Risk Pool insurance.

The meeting included discussions and actions on several key items, including ordering the City of Vega General Election to be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, and accepting the Juvenile Diversion Plan. There was also a discussion regarding moving accounts with Interbank to one account utilizing Consolidated Cash, but no action was taken pending legal review. The Chamber of Commerce discussed hiring a new Chamber Director and the postponement of the Chamber Banquet. The council also showed interest and excitement in a movie project to be filmed in Vega starting in July of 2025 that will highlight local artists.

The council discussed the proposed truck stop south of I-40, focusing on water and sewer line infrastructure and the capacity of the sewer pond. An estimate for expanding the sewer pond was presented, and the possibility of annexation into city limits was raised. The council also considered a request to tie into city utilities and received a report on the Route 66 Documentary from the Museum. Additionally, the purchase of a new riding mower for the Public Works Department was approved, and the City Secretary provided an update on the 23/24 audit and the launch of the new website.
