The budget includes revenues from local sources such as current property tax, specific ownership tax, penalties, interest, earnings on investments, rent income, and mineral leases. It also includes intermediate sources like wildlife impact assistance grants and DOI-PILT. State sources include English Language Proficiency Act funds, transportation funds, SCCG, library program funds, At-Risk Funds, READ-N funds, UPK-MOU Hold Harmless, Vocational Education funds, UPK funds, State Equalization funds, Education of Handicapped (BOCES) funds and Gifted & Talented funds. Federal sources include ARP ESSER 3, Supplemental ESSER III, Summer EBT, Innovative Grant, Federal Direct-Reap, Title I, Title IV-Well Rounded, and Carl Perkins funds.

The Idalia Board of Education held a special strategic meeting that included interviews with Superintendent/Principal finalists. Following the interviews, the board entered an executive session to discuss the candidates and instruct personnel to begin contract negotiations. The board authorized contract negotiations with one of the finalists.

The meeting was called to order, roll call was conducted, and the agenda was approved. The board then moved into an executive session to discuss confidential documents submitted by applicants for the superintendent position. No action was taken during the executive session.

The meeting was convened to discuss the Superintendent Search. The board entered an executive session for the consideration of non-finalist candidates for the position of Superintendent, which included multiple recesses. Ultimately, the board approved a resolution declaring finalists for the Superintendent position.

The board meeting covered various topics including business service reports, a principal's report focusing on discipline, attendance, and an upcoming Title I audit, and a superintendent's update. A new board member was sworn in, a contract was approved for superintendent search assistance, spring coaching contracts were approved, and the superintendent's resignation was accepted, effective June 30, 2025. Finally, the board approved the first reading of policy updates.
