The PPPS Strategic Plan centers around the "Whole Child" and "Culture and Climate" focus areas, aiming to foster academic, social-emotional, and civic growth among students. Academic growth strategies include aligning essential standards, implementing differentiated instruction within a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS), and developing common formative assessments. Social-emotional learning (SEL) is addressed through age-appropriate programming, targeted interventions, and restorative practices. Culture and climate initiatives focus on building relationships, promoting kindness and respect, and fostering community connections through partnerships. A comprehensive facility and infrastructure plan aims to create improved learning environments and increase access to early learning opportunities. The plan includes specific action steps, timelines, accountability measures, and data collection methods for each goal and strategy.

The board meeting included student presentations on a Washington DC trip. Administrative actions involved approving financial reports, monthly bills, and several resignations and retirements. Hiring recommendations were received for summer school personnel, and cheerleading coaches. The board approved policy updates, the hiring of a new high school principal, administrator and central office support contracts, a wage rate change, and budget amendments. Discussions included a roles and responsibility workshop/retreat, a committee of the whole meeting date change, and the upcoming board organizational meeting and meeting schedule. Positive comments were made regarding district events.

The board meeting included presentations on the Citizens of the Month, the COVID-19 Extended Learning Plan, and facilities improvement projects. Discussion included a question about COVID-19 case reporting. Administrative actions involved personnel changes and a donation. The board approved the COVID-19 Extended Learning Plan reconfirmation, the purchase of a school bus, a MASB Region 6 Board of Directors candidate, several letters of agreement (regarding leave extensions and high school parent-teacher conference dates), a new high school course adoption (Earth Science), a first reading of NEOLA Policy 2431, and an extended field trip to Costa Rica.

The board meeting included administrative actions such as approving financial reports, monthly bills, and personnel matters including hiring recommendations and resignations. The board also addressed policy updates, including first and second readings of NEOLA updates. Other key discussion points included approving attendance at the MASB Virtual Fall Conference, approving a COVID-19 Extended Learning Plan, approving a letter of agreement, and approving new course adoptions for Aspire Academy and HomeeLearning. Finally, the board discussed items for the next regular agenda, the MASB Virtual Fall Conference, a board retreat, and board pride and progress.

The Committee of the Whole Work Session meeting included a discussion on effective communication practices led by Gary Goscenski from Perspectives Consulting Group.
