The Lumpkin County Board of Education work session included discussions on Mountain Education graduation requirements, COGINIA overview and the accreditation process, project updates including traffic adjustments at Cottrell Elementary School and LCMS, CCA construction progress, CES generator and digital sign updates, and planning for capital outlay for BES. The board also reviewed CTAE State and Federal Grants, the Leader in Me (Franklin Covey) Grant, and went into an executive session to discuss personnel matters.

The Lumpkin County Board of Education convened to discuss several strategic goals and operational matters. The Board recognized teachers and students involved in the Deeper Learning Project, as well as the LCHS and LCMS Boys Cross Country teams for their achievements. Blackburn Elementary School and Lumpkin County Elementary School were acknowledged as Title I Distinguished Schools. Lumpkin Literacy was recognized as a Partner in Education for their contributions to student literacy. The Lumpkin County Education Foundation's successful reverse raffle fundraiser was highlighted. Financial reports for September and October 2022 were presented, along with school nutrition reports and ESPLOST collections. Approvals were granted for technology surplus sales, a non-school employee-sponsored trip, a Family Connections Grant Contract, an AT&T Cell Tower at Blackburn Elementary School, furniture and technology purchases for the New LCES, the 2023-24 School Calendar, and LCHS modifications. Personnel resignations, retirements, and new hires were also addressed.

The Lumpkin County Board of Education reviewed Board functions for October 2022. Project updates were presented on the new Lumpkin County Elementary School, the College and Career Academy budget, and the Lumpkin County High School renovations. A proposal to construct a cell tower on the property at Blackburn Elementary School was discussed. The board also reviewed a plan to sell surplus technology and discussed the technology needs for the new Lumpkin County Elementary School. Additionally, a new Board policy IKBC: Material Harmful to Minors Complaint Resolution Process was presented. The Board voted to go into executive session to discuss personnel.

The meeting included recognition of student-athletes for their achievements and recognition of staff. There were presentations for Ideal Indians and Pioneer in Education Award Winner. The board reviewed financial reports as of December 2022 and ESPLOST Collections for November 2022. Personnel changes were approved, including new hires, resignations/terminations, and transfers. The board also approved increasing the paraprofessional pay scales.
