The meeting commenced with an invocation and Pledge of Allegiance, followed by procedural reminders for public address. Key activities included the approval of the minutes from the October 28, 2025 regular session. A public hearing was conducted and subsequently closed for comments regarding the proposed 2026 operations and capital budgets. The council reviewed the details of the 2026 operations and maintenance budget and capital budget across 41 designated funds. Further discussions involved ratifying ordinances, including changing a polling location and approving a lease agreement for the South Thibodaux Fire Station. A 2025 supplemental appropriation ordinance was reviewed to adjust year-end projections and deobligate projects. Several resolutions were addressed, such as requesting the U.S. Coast Guard and Army Corps of Engineers to dredge the channel from the Havlin Canal to the Terrebonne Parish channel due to increased traffic following Hurricane Ida, rescinding a nuisance abatement contract, approving amendments for nuisance abatement, underground facility locating services, and emergency response cleanup services, approving an agreement for spay and neuter services, and approving an agreement for the Highway 1 Marsh Terracing Extension Project. The council also approved an agreement for electronic DPW permit applications.

The Lafourche Parish Council held a meeting where they recognized the Lafourche Parish Public Library for its 90 years of service. A proclamation was presented to declare January 2026 as Blood Donor Awareness Month. There was a presentation on networking to pull blood units. The council also recognized the achievements of the 4-H teams at the national level, including horse judging, meat ID, and poultry judging teams. Updates were provided on the Ludivine Pump Station and the Unis Alamar pump station projects. A citizen requested a resolution for the placement of a P rogue and a model boat in the hallway of the building. The council also discussed the installation of solar-powered radar display speed limit signs.
