Additionally, the board discussed future agenda items including a potential delegation of authority for certain license approvals and acknowledged the contributions of a departing board member.

The Board discussed the scope of practice regarding non-therapeutic massage with the executive director of the Arizona Barbering and Cosmetology Board to address confusion between the two professions. Disciplinary actions included the issuance of cease and desist orders for unlicensed practice, opening of complaints for further investigation, and license application denials due to unprofessional conduct or failure to meet requirements. The Board also approved a motion to allow two previous license applicants to cure educational deficiencies over a one-year period. There was also discussion about the creation of a committee for the selection of a new Executive Director in the future and tentative plans for changes to the Massage Board.

The board discussed and declined to accept the NCCAOM examination in lieu of the NCBTMB. Updates were provided on legislation (SB1087) and the budget for FY 05, including a proposed apportionment between the Naturopathic Board and Massage Board. The board also discussed correspondence and questions, including a request for exemption from licensure for Jin Shin Jyutsu, Inc.
