The special meeting included a public comment session where four candidates introduced themselves for a vacant board seat. The board approved the resignation of a school board member and appointed Jodi Delancy to fill the vacant board seat in Region 2. Additionally, the board approved change orders for the new fieldhouse project, including additional lighting, different key locks, and additional downspout/drainage.

The board discussed and approved several items including a Memorandum of Understanding with the Summit Township Police and the State Police. They approved conference requests for staff, added individuals to the Ignite approved substitute teacher list, and granted permanent certification to Tess Stewart. The board also approved an out-of-district student enrollment, recommended officers for the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, and approved an obsolete list. Additionally, they approved tax forgiveness for a property, an agreement with Westmoreland Intermediate Unit 7, and a transportation contract with Ben and Hana Yoder. Coaches and volunteers were approved for the upcoming sporting season, and permission was granted for the PA Maple Festival to use school facilities. The board also approved a Unified Bocce Ball team and allowed the Elks organization to use the gymnasium for the County Hoop Shoot contest. Finally, they approved Studio 7 School of Dance to use the cafeteria for a paint party.

The agenda includes personnel matters such as adding substitute teachers and teacher aides; academic education items like approving the 2010-2011 school calendar and establishing a relationship with the Community Foundation for scholarships; budget, purchasing, and tax collection, including the recommendation to accept an offer to purchase property; transportation updates; athletics and extracurricular activities, including coaching appointments and conference attendance; buildings and grounds, covering event permissions; vocational education; and federal programs and professional development, detailing several training and conference attendance requests with associated costs.
