There were also updates on the Student Council, discussion of the School Improvement Plan, community service opportunities, and a parent workshop.

The 2023-2028 Strategic Plan for The College of the Florida Keys (CFK) outlines the college's commitment to academic excellence, student success, faculty and staff engagement, individualism and diversity, civic and environmental responsibility, and community partnerships. The plan focuses on strategies to expand and maintain access to educational opportunities, promote community and environmental accountability, foster institutional and individual agility, and ensure student and stakeholder achievement. Key objectives include constructing additional residence halls, launching new degree and certificate programs, generating philanthropic support, enhancing technology in classrooms, implementing ecological awareness programs, seeking accreditation, and supporting life safety initiatives. The plan also aims to meet or exceed Florida College System benchmarks for retention, completion, job placement, and starting salaries, while aligning education with job competencies and expanding mental health support for students and employees.

Updates on student applications for the upcoming school year, scheduling and elective selection, testing dates, grade review, and a parent survey were also addressed.

The meeting included discussions on setting dates for upcoming events such as the February Dance (Sweetheart Social or Sweetheart Party), a March Fundraiser on a Fury boat, an April Speakeasy Fundraiser, April Prom, and Graduation in May. The council also discussed the mascot for CFK Academy, updates on the student council, and the formation of a Student Fun Fund Committee to support student activities. Additionally, there was a review of PM2 Data, an update on Ready, Set, College Night, and a discussion on how the Charter School Recognition Funds/A Rating monies will be spent.
