The Spring Lake Board of Education held a work session where they discussed several key items. The agenda included student recognition, public comments, and the approval of minutes from a previous public hearing. The Business Administrator's Report covered the approval of contracts, secretary and treasurer's reports, expenditures, transfers, and the appointment of an auditing firm. The Superintendent's Report included updates on enrollment, use of facilities, and class trips. Curriculum updates, personnel matters such as professional development workshops, retirements, and new hires were addressed. Additionally, there were discussions on student services, policy updates, the school district website, and the strategic plan. The meeting moved into an executive session to discuss confidential matters before adjourning.

The meeting included a presentation by Girl Scout Troop 310, requesting approval for a community service project to install and maintain a Little Free Library. The board discussed ongoing buildings and grounds projects, updates to the 5-year Capital Improvement Plan, and the arrival of shade sails for the outdoor learning area. The Curriculum and Instruction committee provided an update on the math textbook selection process, student performance on the NJ Student Learning Assessment, and progress towards Sustainable NJ Bronze Certification. The Finance committee reviewed finances and the proposed budget for the 24/25 school year. The Personnel committee reported on the search for a replacement Head Custodian. The Policy committee discussed non-resident tuition rates for the 24/25 school year. The board acknowledged the PTA for various contributions and the Spring Lake Police Department for security drill assistance. Program updates included calendar amendments, enrichment programs, open house events, Steam Tank competition, regional district enrichment convocations, and shared experiences for grades 7 and 8. The board also discussed and approved various action items related to curriculum, personnel, policy, and finance, including class trips, professional development workshops, facility use requests, and tuition rates for the upcoming school year. The meeting concluded with a resolution honoring Mr. James Daniscsak for his service as Head Custodian.

The annual Reorganization Meeting included the administration of the Oath of Office to Mr. Michael Moran, following the announcement of the November 2023 election results. The board proceeded to elect Mrs. Noelle Giblin as President and Mr. Michael Moran as Vice President for the calendar year 2024. Appointments were made for Board members to serve on various committees and as liaisons. The Board approved the designation of official depositories for school funds, authorized check-signing responsibilities, approved official newspapers for advertising, adopted the annual Board of Education Regular Meeting Schedule, approved the existing curriculum for grades PK-8, and readopted the existing bylaws and policies. Additionally, the Board approved various service providers for legal services, architectural services, engineering services, aquaponic system maintenance, and neurological and developmental pediatric services. Discussions covered the design/management of forthcoming ROD grant projects and the upcoming Open House. Updates were provided on the successful start of the Tiger Bound program.

The Spring Lake Borough Board of Education held a special meeting that included an executive session to discuss matters involving employees and terms of their employment and contract. The Board ratified the Agreement between the SLBOE and the SLEA, effective July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2027, and approved the faculty and 10-Month Support Staff for the 2024/25 school year. Public comments addressed concerns about a community letter and an after-school incident.
