This plan details Kentucky's strategy for deploying electric vehicle charging infrastructure in compliance with the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program. The meeting, designated as the tenth for the task force, served two main purposes: to update on major initiatives centered in the legislature affecting congregations and school systems across the state, and to feature a presentation from the Anti-Defamation League leadership. Key discussions involved updates on interfaith security initiatives, including efforts to secure $3.5 million in state funding for these efforts, similar to the nonprofit security grant program. The grant award process and expected timelines for funding notifications were discussed. A recent successful session in Lexington involving security briefings and leveraging the fusion center for houses of worship was highlighted, emphasizing outreach to diverse religious communities including Jewish, Catholic, Muslim, Islamic, LDS, and Hindu groups, stressing that houses of worship are critical infrastructure. Efforts to build a robust interfaith coalition to support the state security grant appropriation were detailed, noting the coalition represents hundreds of thousands of people. Additionally, progress on a high-priority request for a $2 million annual state appropriation for Holocaust education, which aims to triple the number of teachers reached, was covered. Upcoming advocacy day activities in Frankfurt, coinciding with International Holocaust Remembrance Day, were also discussed, focusing on securing appropriations for both security grants and Holocaust education.
