The Town of Tolland's 2025 Economic Development Plan outlines strategies to improve economic wellbeing by providing a framework for development decisions, balancing growth with the town's character, and reducing residential tax burdens. The plan focuses on leveraging the town's strengths, such as its location, educated population, and proximity to UConn, to attract specific industries and foster local business growth. Key strategies include enhancing web presence for businesses, identifying high-value industries like medical offices and specialized contractors, exploring age-restricted housing and expanded business parks, and utilizing tax abatement policies to support economic development and retain agricultural businesses.

The Tolland Town Council held a special hybrid meeting, which included an organizational and regular session. Key agenda items included the election of a chairperson and vice chairperson, discussion and adoption of a meeting schedule, and setting the time for regular meetings. The council also addressed the rules of procedure and had a town manager introduction. A proclamation recognizing Veterans & Military Families Month was presented. The council discussed the appointment of a Town Attorney, considered a resolution authorizing the deposit of funds for a supplemental Municipal Revenue Sharing Grant into the General Fund, and addressed appointments to vacancies on various municipal boards and commissions.
