The Board of Trustees developed and adopted goals for the 2022-2023 academic year. These goals include providing mission-directed leadership and governance, focusing on Black and Brown student excellence, reviewing board policy to support equity, diversity, and inclusion, directing budget policy and priorities to advance the college's equity-centered mission, monitoring institutional response to COVID-19, supporting professional development for all employees, actively engaging in efforts to promote economic and workforce development, conducting a self-evaluation to review performance, developing a trustee succession plan, and hiring a new Chancellor.

The board action exhibit discusses the granting of tenure to faculty members, specifically focusing on the review and award process as per RCW 28B.50.850 et seq. The final determination rests with the Board of Trustees after considering recommendations from the tenure review committee and administration. The board considered Claire Gibbons, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Mathematics, for tenure.

The Board of Trustees of Community College District 11, Pierce College, is considering a land stormwater easement with the City of Puyallup. This easement is required due to the construction of additional parking stalls on the Puyallup Campus, which includes a stormwater facility. The City of Puyallup requires the easement for inspection access and to ensure that the area remains undeveloped. The 2022 Pierce College, Puyallup Campus, Master Plan does not show any future development in this area.

The Board of Trustees approved the Student Transportation and Security Fee to support students and enhance out-of-class experiences by improving accessibility, safety, and clean transportation. The fee is set at $3.50 per credit, capped at 12 credits, for all credit-bearing and Transitional Education coursework starting Fall Quarter 2022. Funds will support construction, rehabilitation, and improvement of student parking facilities, the student motor pool, and safety measures at Pierce College. The business office is authorized to manage the funds and share usage information with the Associated Students.

The Board of Trustees approved the 2023-2024 fee schedule, effective Fall quarter 2023. The changes include adjustments to fees for various courses in the Arts & Humanities, Business & Social Science, and Health & Technology Divisions. These changes account for private instruction costs, field trip support, WEST-E voucher expenses, pinning ceremony costs, nursing application fees, and lab supplies. New fees were introduced for paramedic courses, while some fees were removed due to discontinued services or updated models.
