Trident Technical College's Capital Funding Request outlines a strategic investment to enhance workforce training and economic growth. The college aims to address projected job growth and current facility limitations by requesting $39.2 million for fiscal year 2026-27. This funding will facilitate the renovation of three buildings, expansion of labs, and modernization with advanced technology, specifically targeting increased enrollment in defense-related programs such as industrial technology, welding and shipbuilding, advanced manufacturing, transportation and logistics, homeland security, and cybersecurity, to meet the critical demand for a skilled workforce essential to South Carolina's economy and national security.
This strategic plan for Trident Technical College, covering 2023-2028 and revised in the 2024-25 academic year, focuses on three core themes: Student Success and Experience, Innovation, and TTC Community. It aims to create a student-centered experience to increase enrollment, retention, and academic success; harness innovation and technology for operational efficiency and improved experiences; and strengthen the college's role in regional economic development through community engagement and partnerships.
