The plan aims to create inclusive, resilient, and relevant spaces for residents and visitors to thrive, connect with nature, and enjoy recreational activities.

This implementation study outlines a long-term vision for an interconnected walking and bicycling network in Charleston County, aiming to connect residents to parks, schools, and other key destinations. The plan prioritizes projects based on criteria such as safety enhancements, access to green spaces and public parks, support for schools and employment centers, compatible land use, and equitable access for vulnerable populations. It serves as a roadmap for achieving healthy, active lifestyles and sustainable transportation options through phased implementation.

The agenda for the Commission Regular Meeting included a Public Hearing regarding Series 2026 General Obligation Bonds. Key action items for the regular meeting involved the Election of Officers, approval of the Petition to Charleston County regarding bond issuance, awarding a contract for exterior building painting and stair replacement at Cooper River County Park, and an Executive Session to discuss a contractual matter concerning the Folly Beach Fishing Pier and personnel matters. Updates were also provided on Planning and Development, and Financial Services.
