The City Council discussed and approved the formation of a committee to participate in the interview process for the next Captain of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Carson Station. Additionally, the Council vacated and removed all members of the city's commissions, committees, and boards, and proceeded to appoint and ratify new members for several commissions, including the Economic Development, Environmental, Planning, Citywide Advisory, Parks and Recreation, and Public Works commissions. The Council also discussed coordinating a site for a vaccination program and confirmed follow-up items for future meetings.

The City Council convened a special meeting to hold a closed session regarding the appointment of a Captain and other public safety related issues. No reportable action was taken during the session.

The meeting included the consideration of the monthly investment and cash report, which was received and filed. The Authority discussed an agreement with the West Basin Municipal Water District concerning the construction and transfer of ownership of future recycled water facilities, with the item being continued for further negotiation regarding construction costs. Additionally, the Authority approved the conveyance of a sewer easement to the City of Carson for the former Cal Compact landfill site.
