New Haven County's Priority Climate Action Plan, 'Impact 2045,' led by the South Central Regional Council of Governments, aims to create pathways to an equitable climate future and improve the quality of life for residents by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The plan focuses on near-term, high-priority mitigation strategies across six key sectors: Mobility and Transportation, Electricity Production and Consumption, Energy Efficiency in Buildings, Waste Management, Industrial, and Working Lands & Forestry. A core objective is to deliver 40% of the benefits of these measures to low-income and disadvantaged communities (LIDACs) under the Justice40 initiative.
