The Commonwealth's first-ever Housing Action Plan, spearheaded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, is a blueprint designed to tackle housing challenges, availability, and affordability across the state. It outlines five key goals: to increase new home construction and preserve existing housing through investments in infrastructure, repairs, land banks, and workforce training; to broaden housing opportunities for diverse populations, including first-time homebuyers, older adults, people with disabilities, and underserved communities; to ensure housing stability by preventing evictions and homelessness, protecting domestic abuse survivors, and enforcing fair housing laws; to modernize housing development regulations to reduce costs and streamline construction processes; and to achieve operational excellence in state processes to facilitate building. The plan aims to meet the projected need for approximately 450,000 new housing units by 2035, fostering safe, thriving communities and providing a fundamental basis for residents' economic and social success.

The council meeting addressed several municipal matters, including the approval of tax collection reports, a list of bills, budget transfers, payroll reports, and capital improvements.
