The Frankenlust Township Budget Hearing addressed adjustments to the 2025-2026 budget. Adjustments were presented to the preliminary budget from May 22, 2025, including changes to Bulk Water, Supervisor Medicare Expense and Wages, Deputy Treasurer and Clerk Wages, Assessor S/S and Medicare Expenses, Liquor Inspection Expense, Charter Comm/Telephone, Election Wages and Supplies, Road Patrol, Recreation Park Fund, Attorney/Professional Fee, and Planning & Engineer Services. The Fire Department budget was approved as presented during the June 10, 2025, board meeting, with Capital Equipment combined into miscellaneous. Adjustments were made to the Miscellaneous Budget, including Gas for Trimming & Mowing, Park Trails, Trees/Shrubs/Plants/Trees/Soil, Mowing & Brush Cutting, Invasive-Species Management, and Liquor Inspection Expense.

The meeting involved a review of proposed amendments to the Frankenlust Township Master Plan, which were presented by a Spicer Group representative and discussed by the commission members. Following discussions and minor changes, the proposed amendments were approved and forwarded to the Township Board. Additionally, proposed changes to specific sub-sections of the zoning ordinance were presented and discussed, with minor changes agreed upon. The proposed language was then approved and also forwarded to the Township Board. The Zoning Administrator's and Building Inspector's reports for May 2025 were reviewed. An informal general discussion was held regarding Planning Commission members' issues and concerns.

The meeting included discussions and decisions on various township matters. The board reviewed the fire department's activity, updates on the Nature Park, and reports from the Sheriff, Planning Commission, and Zoning Administrator. An insurance proposal was accepted, and raises were approved for the Zoning Administrator and Assessor. The board also discussed and approved a raise for themselves. Resolution 2025-005 was approved to make St. John Lutheran School a permanent polling location. Jim Begick was reappointed as Noxious Weed Commissioner. The board also considered bids for new blinds, approved electrical work, and accepted a bid for township siding repairs. Changes to the Principles of Governance were discussed, and the township calendar was accepted with corrections. The Employee Handbook was updated to reflect the new Earn Sick Time Act, and budget adjustments were approved. Finally, there was a discussion on property sign-out procedures and the use of a pay sheet for various township positions.

The commission reviewed the Implementation Plan of the Master Plan and determined that all items on the Action Items list should be categorized as ongoing/underway "Continuous" items. The special workshop meeting previously scheduled for May 28 was canceled. The Zoning Administrator's and Building Inspector's reports for April 2025 were reviewed and are on file. An informal general discussion of the status of various projects within the township was held, with no commission action required at this time.
