The council discussed and passed motions regarding the secretaries and treasures reports, cemetery mowing expenses, and children attending Bible camp. They considered obtaining extra Christ in our home books from ALC in Milbank and discussed paraments and banners, shifting servant teams, and switching to oil candles. Adrian Wise will fill in for Pastor Kari for the Hanging of the Greens Service, and Anne can cover the Service of the Carols. The council addressed pastoral care needs and the need to update the membership list, assigning the Day-to-Day team to this task. They also discussed Christmas decorations and the Angel Tree. Additionally, the formation of a transition team and a day-to-day team was mentioned.

The Town Board reviewed insurance loss control survey improvements and recommendations, along with land values and vehicle listings from their insurance. A building permit for a fence was approved for Simon Pies, and a payment to the SAEG for annual support was also approved. The first reading was held for an annexation petition requested by Heinz Properties, LLC. The board went into executive session regarding daycare and maintenance personnel, resulting in adjustments to hourly rates and the hiring of a new maintenance employee.

The board discussed the installation of a new digital sign, which is expected to be completed by September 20. There was an update on the daycare situation, noting a total of three applicants. The maintenance report indicated that asphalt work would begin shortly for the year's scheduled blocks. The final reading of the 2026 budget was held and subsequently approved. The board also expressed interest in updating the old book of ordinances in the near future.

The Church Council meeting included discussions and decisions on various topics. An exit interview with Pastor Janet was conducted. The council decided to cancel the current Venmo account and restart a new one as a non-profit account. They are seeking Youth Group families to help organize and run the Vendor Fair/Porch Pot event, planned for mid-November. Pulpit supply was secured through September 7th, and for Reformation Sunday and All Saints Sunday. A call committee is being formed to find a new pastor, and congregation members will be asked to help with the visitation list. There was also a discussion about the blessing of the backpacks on August 24th and Rally Sunday.

The Town Board meeting included public communications regarding a water leak. The board approved a one-day liquor license for the Summit Fire Department, which will be responsible for security during the event. The first reading of the 2026 budget was held, and the board went into executive session to discuss overdue daycare bills.
