The meeting focused on Resolution 2020-08, which supports the annexation of the Outer Islands with San Juan County Fire District #3 and putting the measure on the Tuesday, November 3, 2020 ballot. The population of the outer islands is growing, and the annexation would align the boundary with that of the Hospital District. The islands included are Waldron, Spieden, Stuart and John's islands. The Fire District was able to acquire 40 percent of the outer island property owners' signatures and decided to proceed with putting the measure on the ballot.
