The Weyburn and Area Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan 2025 is a collaborative effort to build a safer, healthier, and more inclusive community. It identifies three key priority areas: Health Care, Community Cohesion, and Public Safety and Well-Being. The plan's vision is to create a thriving, inclusive community where residents feel safe, supported, valued, and empowered to live, learn, play, and grow with dignity and purpose.

The City Council meeting addressed several agenda items, including updates from the Arts Council regarding recent and upcoming events. Approval was granted for a special occasion application to allow the sale of alcohol at the annual Agricultural Society fair. The council held a discussion and ultimately approved a discretionary use development permit for a new telecommunication tower. A new bylaw enforcement officer was officially appointed. Additionally, the council reviewed a discretionary use application for an open-air concert proposed in conjunction with the upcoming oil show, discussing noise concerns and fire safety requirements for the event.

The council discussed a zoning bylaw amendment application for a property on Government Road to allow for a mixed-use residential and commercial retail development. A proclamation was issued recognizing Victims and Survivors of Crime Week. The Aquatic Facility Steering Committee provided a project status update, noting the transition into the prime consultant procurement phase and the use of a construction management at risk delivery model. Several departmental reports were approved, including building, fire, public works, and water treatment operations, along with the approval of accounts payable for the month of April.
