The Village Board Meeting and Committee of the Whole discussed several key topics. The Committee of the Whole also reviewed financial reports for April 2026, including updates on collections, investments, and police and building statistics.

The meeting included an extensive discussion regarding a new residential refuse collection process and the associated contract with Groot. Proclamations were read for Arbor Day and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. The Board approved the appointment of an Economic Development Commission member, an ordinance amending the municipal code regarding penalties and fees, and various resolutions approving master plans for water, wastewater, watersheds, and pavement management. Additionally, numerous agreements were approved for the Willoughby Farms Subdivision Section 3 Rehabilitation Project, Sandbloom Road Improvements, dumpster enclosure designs, and various Algonquin and McHenry County shared yard improvement projects. The Board also approved a covenants and restrictions agreement for a property, authorized payment of bills, and granted licenses for several public events, including a canoe and paddle event and a car show. Reports were provided regarding the GFOA Certificate of Achievement, police and public works responses to local flooding efforts, and regulations concerning e-bike usage.

The Committee of the Whole discussed several public event license applications, including for a classic car show, a church procession, and the Art on the Fox art festival. The committee reviewed proposed zoning amendments regarding planned developments for SmartStop Self Storage, final subdivision plats for QuikTrip, and special use permits for Dutch Bros Coffee. Additionally, the meeting addressed various municipal code and zoning text updates. Infrastructure and equipment matters were also reviewed, such as the Boyer Road Improvement Project, an annual tree pruning program, the procurement of a Ford Ranger, a LeeBoy paver, and an anti-ice sprayer, as well as necessary repairs for well pump equipment. Finally, the committee discussed a funding commitment for a Safe Streets For All grant application regarding a corridor and intersection study.
